To have more chance of having your site indexed by search engines spiders your site coding needs to be bug free and look to see if any java code or flash elements may affect this.
Link Exchange
This is basically links from other sites that place a link to your site on theirs. This is good as search engines look to see who is linking to you and can be seen as a referral in that your site is relevant.
